Obituary For James A. Minto

James A. Minto, 80, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away Monday December 28, 2020 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born June 19, 1940 in Mingo Junction, Ohio, a son of the late Clarence and Nina Stein Minto. Jim was a proud veteran of the US Army. Jim worked tirelessly as General Manager of Arby’s in Wintersville. When he wasn’t working, you could find Jim at any event his daughters and granddaughters were participating in from band concerts to coaching their softball teams.

Preceding Jim in death were his four brothers, Raymond (Sonny), Robert, Calvin and Richard Minto and sister Margaret Freshwater. He is survived by his wife Patricia Shablack Minto; three daughters; Michele Minto, Dawn Driscoll and Diana Minto; six grandchildren; Emma Minto, Kendall Driscoll and Kirsten Driscoll as well as three additional grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters; Lois Lindsay, Helen Lindsay and Mary Lou Lindsay and his beloved canine companion Chewy.

Family and friends will be received at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Monday January 4, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Rob Minto officiating. Private burial at Union Cemetery.

    Jim was a mentor of mine. Sometimes you go through life never knowing the positive impact you had on certain people! I worked for Jim at Burger Chef in the late 60' and early 70's. He had a lot of faith in me when I was at a very young age. I will always be grateful to Jim for helping we grow in leadership and people skills. Rest in Peace my friend. Joe Bedore

    Jimmy was a good friend, i met him when I got hired on with Hardee's in 1986 he was the G M at Hardee's in Steubenville.... He was so dedicated to his job ... latter in life we met up again as employees for Arbys... when I would enter his store his first question to me was 'how's those grandkids of yours doin'.... I would tell him stories of mine and he would tell me stories of his.... he so loved those grandkids.... Jimmy you will be sorely missedBy all
