James A. “Bee” Caniff III, 44, of Wintersville, Ohio died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Trinity West ER. He was born June 2, 1964 in Steubenville. He was a 1982 graduate of Wintersville High School and the University of Akron and graduated from the Culinary Arts College of PA. Jim was the former general manager of Damon’s restaurant of Steubenville and currently employed by Presto Foods of Cincinnati. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church; F.L.W. Outdoors; T.B.F. St. Clairsville Bassmasters Club #784 and Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. An enthusiast of all sports, Bee was an avid golfer at Red Oaks and fisherman. Preceeding Bee in death were his paternal grandparents James A. & Helen E. Caniff, Sr. and maternal grandparents John W. & Artella Donnelly. Surviving are his wife Amy J. Aracich Caniff; son Joshua Allen Caniff at home; parents James A. and Dorothy J. Donnelly Caniff, Jr. of Bloomingdale; brother Jeff (Sheila) Caniff of Bloomingdale; and nephews Jeffrey “J.J.” Caniff, Jr. & Justin Caniff both of Bloomingdale, and Douglas Conner of Wellsburg, WV. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Sunday 1-3 & 6-8 p.m., where services will be held 10 a.m. Monday with Msgr. Kurt Kemo officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association.
