Jacqueline L. Tabacchi, 73 of Shinglehouse, PA, formerly of Wintersville, Ohio died Monday, December 10, 2001 at her home after a long illness. She was born on June 2, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA a daughter of the late John and Gertrude Daniels Bossick. On January 12, 1952 in Hopedale, Ohio she married Eugene G. Tabacchi, who died on March 10, 1999. She was a graduate of Hopedale High School and Geneva College, Beaver Falls, PA. Mrs. Tabacchi had been employed as a special education teacher by the Beaver County PA Intermediate Unit in the Center Area Schools, Monaca, PA. She had also worked as a retail sales and accounting clerk. She moved to Shinglehouse, PA in August 1999 from Wintersville, Ohio. Mrs. Tabacchi was a member of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, Shinglehouse, PA; Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Wintersville, OH; Confraternity of Christian Mothers; Retired Teachers Assn. of Beaver County; Italian Cultural Society; and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Society. In earlier years, she was active in Girl and Cub Scouting. Mrs. Tabacchi loved to read, travel and be with her family. She is survived by two daughters Colleen T. (Jesse) Hyde of Shinglehouse and Paula T. (Henry Joseph) Hughes of Ft. Knox, KY; two sons Lt. Col. Peter J. (Beth) Tabacchi of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO and Christopher J. (Cathy Crist) Tabacchi of Kansas City, MO; nine grandchildren; two brothers John (Jane) Bossick of Scio, OH and Thomas Bossick of CA; seven sisters Kay Dailey of Pittsburgh, PA, Ruth Gorby of Cincinnati, OH, Bernice (Ken) Gilmore of Sand Point, Idaho, Geraldine (Bob) Jackson of Hopedale, OH, Alberta (Ed) Rensi of Woodsfield, OH, Janet Dunaway of Columbus, OH and Barbara Bossick of Cadiz, OH. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Tabacchi was preceded in death by three sisters Betty Jane Bossick, Lorraine Bossick and Virginia Smith; and one brother Robert Bossick. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, Ohio on Thursday 7-9; and Friday 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral Liturgy with Mass on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church with Msgr. Gerald Calovini and Rev. Robert H. Jackson, pastor of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Akron, OH, nephew and godchild of Mrs. Tabacchi officiating. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio. Vigil services 7 p.m. Friday.
