Obituary For Jack C. Steele

Jack C. Steele 70, of Steubenville, Ohio died Thursday, October 31, 2002 at home of natural causes after a lengthy illness surrounded by his wife and family. He was born in Steubenville on January 16, 1932 a son of the late Frank and Irene Locke Steele. Jack was retired from Weirton Steel Co. after 34 years service as a millwright in the Open Hearth. Upon his retirement, Jack was employed at Creegan Co. for ten years as a mechanical animator. He was a member of Wintersville U.M. Church and the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club. He served in U.S. Army as an infantry corporal during the Korean Conflict and was preceded in death by a half-sister Geraldine See. Surviving are his wife Barbara A. Letzelter Steele whom he married on March 27,1951; three sons Frank (Lynn) Steele of Euclid, Ohio, Jack (Debra) Steele of Bloomingdale, Ohio and Dan Steele of Steubenville; two daughters Linda (Mike) Sperlazza of Steubenville and Christine (David) Antonelli of Wintersville; eleven grandchildren Barbara (Dan) Grisez; Lisa (Tim) Banach; Michael, Alissa and Brittany Sperlazza; Samantha, Jennifer and Jack Steele; and Rebecca, Rachel and Renee Antonelli and one great granddaughter Meghan Grisez. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville, on Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating. Entombment at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
