Jack Allan Daily, 87, of Wintersville, Ohio passed peacefully in his home on Saturday, November 4, 2017. Jack successfully co-owned Daily and Daily Masonry with brother Dave for 30 years. For years he farmed and sold produce from his home. People from all around would come for his homegrown fruits and vegetables. For 10 years the students and staff at Wintersville Elementary were touched by his presence as he cared for the school as their custodian.
He is preceded in death by his parents George Daily and Ruth Allan Daily and his stepmother Mary Lucille Marker Daily. Jack is leaving behind his wife of 68 years, Carol Scott Daily, his brother Dave (Pat) Daily, sister Carol (Richard) Edgerly, brothers Jim (Mary) Daily, George (Susan) Daily, and sister-in-laws June Davis and Alice Birney Wells. He was the proud father of Robert (Linda) Daily, Linda (Robert) Corder, and Karen (Steve) Orwick, as well as his grandchildren Tad Daily, Tammy (Heath) Starr, Tricia (Scott) Binkiewicz, Lisa (Zachary) Richmond, Joshua (Amie) Orwick, Haley (Jeff) Kreider, and Chasity Randalson. He is also leaving behind his beloved great-grandchildren Logan, Allie, Sydney, Molly, Grayson, Layna, Addyson, and Olivia.
Jack enjoyed surrounding himself with his horses and family. He was passionate about training his beautiful Belgium horses to till the ground, pull hay wagons and winter sleighs full of family and friends. Jack had such a love for his horses and especially loved to tell stories about Big Dan, Cindy, Babe and Blondie. He enjoyed attending area high school and legion sports throughout his years as well as watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren actively participate in their school and sporting events. He was a kind and gentle soul whose love for people and nature were evident to all those who knew him. Jack was known and is loved by many and will be greatly missed.

I count myself fortunate to have had Uncle Jack in my life. I will always remember fun times on the farm, fresh corn and tomatoes in the summer, fall hay rides and winter sleigh rides. He was a quiet man but his alert eyes were always taking everything in—without comment. His was a generous and gentle soul. He will be missed by all who knew him—but he will never be forgotten.
