Irene F. “Rene” McClain, 90, of Steubenville, Ohio died Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Inn at Wyngate, Weirton, WV.  She was born July 2, 1924 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late James and Mary E. Wright Long.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society.   Irene was preceded in death by her husband Harold J. McClain on May 1, 2012; brother James Long, Jr. and sister Dorothy M. Varoga.  Surviving are eight nieces Carolyn (Bruce) Donaldson of Malibu, CA, Jane (Rick) Mort of San Diego, CA, Patricia (Greg) Varoga Ehalt of Murrysville, PA, Mary Kay (Sam) Conner of Aliquippa, PA, Barbara (Ralph) Carapellotti of Berea, OH, Linda Bright of Steubenville, OH, Janice (Ronald) Zumer of Mt. Juliet, TN and Carol (Jon) Laska of Irwin, PA; nephew Richard (Barbara) Barnes of Pittsburgh, PA; many great nieces and great nephews and very special friends Jane (Robert) Aldridge and their family of Steubenville, OH.  Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon with Rev. Bill Westling officiating.  Burial at Union Cemetery.
