Obituary For Howard J. Fray, Sr

Howard J. Fray, Sr., 89, of Wintersville, Ohio died Friday, May 7, 2010 at Trinity West.  He was born June 13, 1920 in Steubenville, Ohio a son of the late Charles and Theresa Kirsteen Fray.  Howard retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a welder in the steel works.  He was a WW II veteran serving in the Army.  Howard was a member of Weirton VFW, Unionport Masonic Lodge #333, Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville, Steubenville Shrine Club and Weirton Steel 25 year Club.  Preceding Howard in death were his wife Marjorie R. Fix Fray; two grandchildren Howard Fray III and Tonya Mae Fray; two brothers Fred and Charles Fray, Jr. and three sisters Leona Turnbull, Mary Louise Senetra and Jessie Marshall.  Surviving are his daughter Joyce Marlene (Ronald) Rouse of Mingo Junction, OH; son Howard James (Candy) Fray, Jr. of Wintersville, OH; sister Florence (Mike) Hvick of Amsterdam, OH; four grandchildren Lee (Susan) Rouse, Randy Rouse, Brady (Lisa) Snyder and Danielle (Nick) Snyder; seven great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Greco officiating.  Burial at Fort Steuben.

    Sorry for your loss,Howard was a wonderful man and a great story teller.I always enjoyed listenening to his War stories and enjoyed spending time with him. I had the pleasure of meeting Howard and becoming his caregiver back in 2001,he was like part of my family and he will remain in my heart and memories forever. Debbie, Tim,Megan and Casey Nestor
