Hester E. Wilson, 98, of Steubenville died Friday, July 19, 2019 at Valley Hospice North. She was born November 25, 1920 in Steubenville the daughter of the late Lewis and Zetta May LaFollette Dalton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Wilson, son Charles William “Skip” Wilson, two infant grandchildren Paisley Jane and Brady James Lamp, son-in-law Clarence Alfred “Whis” Whisman III, four brothers and four sisters. Hester retired from the Steubenville City Schools as a cafeteria worker and held church membership at Finley U. M. Church. She was past president at Lincoln School P.T.A. and was a Big Red Band Parent member. She is survived by her children Carol Whisman of Toronto, Roger (Jane) Wilson of Rio, Wisconsin and Keith (Ilore) Wilson of Wintersville; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday from 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. Additional calling on Monday from 10 until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Finley U. M. Church, 958 Lincoln Avenue, Steubenville. Rev. Rick Dawson and Rev. P. Douglas George officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please direct contributions to the Children’s Bereavement Foundation, 108 Aliceland Drive, Wintersville, OH 43953 or Finley U. M. Church.
