Dear family of Herk, your father was a pillar of the community and always there when some one was in need. How happy he must be to see his father and Pat. His mother and step-father were there for the kids and was proud of Herk. We are sincerely appreciative of his ongoing fatherly influence on our dear Scott. He will be missed and we pray God will comfort all of you with peaceful memories.

My husband (Delmis Nottingham) and Herk signed up for the service on the buddy system. They always laughted about it because after basic training, they never saw one another again until they were back in Wintersville. Now they have been reunited again. Rest in peace!

What a truly wonderful uncle. but.... I was scared of him for more than a few years. But he was all bark and no bite, but with that booming voice, you sure didn't want no bite. He mellowed as we all do, aged gracefully and was always my relative that Melanie most looked forward to seeing at the family reunions And what a love story. He was beyond devoted to my aunt Pat over many years, as she was to him. I am not sure he ever accepted the fact that the Bruins were better than his beloved Wintersville Warriors. Thank You for being one of all my great uncles growing up, please kiss aunt Pat for all of us, WE LOVE YOU The Biewens

Memory Eternal I'm sorry for your loss . Your Father was the a mainstay on Verio Drive, he helped everyone that he could and was the first to hold the Verio Drive Block Party. He was the handy man, and would always plow the gardens, He will be missed.
