Dear Mathes Family, I was very saddened to hear about Helen. I have many fond memories of my childhood spending time at your home, going to the lake on Sunday's, and the many parties we shared together. Those were the best times. Helen was an incredible woman and a great cook. My favorite was her pizzelles. I have never tasted a cookie that good. I know all of you will miss her terribly and you will be in my prayers. Love to all of you, Vicky Lees-Kim

Terri and Sherri, I am sorry to hear about your mom. Some of my best memories are staying over night and having such fun at your house. I can still hear your mom saying,"Girls!" and just shaking her head. May you find peace as she has. Please know I am thinking of all of you. Sherri

I have such good memories of staying at the Mathes house in Jr. High. Mrs. Mathes out did herself cooking for us and she was always fun to be around. I thought that Donna and Joni were lucky to have her for a Mom and they were. My sincere sympathies to all of you. I know that you have many happy memories to keep in your heart.

Sherri & Terri, I don't know if you will remember me or not, but I just wanted to give my condolences on the death of your mother. I remember her taking the lunch money @ Stark & she always said hello to me when I would see her @ church or a church function. She was always so friendly. Sincerely, Karen Constantine Skinner

I'm so sorry I didn't find out until today Feb 27,2012 that my dear friend had died. She was a true friend thru thick or thin and I don't believe God made a better human being than she was. She was a loveing mother, grandmother and wife and always a true friend, who loved God with all her heart and soul and wasn't afraid to let anyone know it. She didn't judge or say unkind things about anyone, this world was a better place because she was here, and she will surely be missed by all who knew her. I'm so sorry I live so far away and wasn't notified by anyone that she had died..I loved you Helen and am very thankful that God saw fit to have you be part of my life...Your Friend Susie
