I have fond memories of "Miss Vein" from being a student nurse at OVH in the 50's. I'm sorry to read of your loss but, I'm sure her memory will live on in the minds of many student nurses and others that worked with her. Gaye

DEAREST MIM, DOROTHY AND family. Helen was the dearest member of our family. We enjoyed so many happy memories with her. She was an inspiration to my mother at Ohio Valley Hospital and especially my niece, Heather. She was a trailblazer for all women. Her intelligence and insight lives on in many. Jack and I enjoyed her company and especially her presence at our wedding. Mommy (Alice Ryan) has lost her best friend and holds a lifetime of memories she and Helen enjoyed. Joyce and Mommy consider it an honor to have spent her last days with her. Please know what a special "lady" she is and we at the Ryan family hold her in high esteem and will miss her desperately. Family gatherings always included Helen and there will now be a big void. Oh, how happy our memories of her are. She was so very special to us. Love, Marcy

Dear Mimi, Dorothy & family, Helen was a beautiful person inside and out. She has been a back bone of success for many women in this city of ours. She has done so much through her generosity of volunteering be it for the community or church. I will always remember her kind words and deeds, especially her words of wisdom. There are so few people like Helen in this world and God Blessed us with her friendship. My parents always spoke of the old days and all the fun they used to have. Now they are all together again and dancing kolos and waiting until we all meet again one day. Our prayers are with you both and your family at this time, and always. Please let us know if you need anything. May Helens Memory Be Eternal. Love, Jerry, Mary Lynn & Nicholas

Dear Diddy, Mimi and Family, It is sad to hear of Teta Lennie's death but how blessed all of us have been by her life. I can see her now with Aunt Stella (Yaksich) and Dorothy Somerville taking charge wherever they are! These were women of intelligence, courage and commitment to their nursing profession, their loved ones and their communities both near and far. Indeed, memories are eternal. Peace be with you, Nada

I would like to share my condolences with you. I was hired at OVH as a new nurse in 1974 and was taught the proper ways of nursing from Miss Vein. I can still remember today learning the "right" way to make a bed. Just last week I mentioned to a friend that I had seen Miss Vein in Kmart and how great she still looked. I was very saddened to read her obituary in the paper.

I was a nursing student at OVH from 1970-73. I remember Miss Vein fondly. She was an excellent role model and teacher. She also possesed a wonderful sense of humor. Her interactions with the student nurses imparted valuable lessons in nursing and in life. I am saddened to hear of her passing, but comforted by warm memories.
