Helen M. D’Andrea, 95, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on December 29, 2024 at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville. Helen was born on October 22, 1929 in Ponce de Leon, Florida a daughter of the late Roy & Eileen Pitts Humes. Helen was a 1948 graduate of Follansbee High School.
Helen worked at Ohio Valley Hospital and was a volunteer with the Grey Ladies. She was a member of the Labelle View Church of Christ volunteering with the Women's Club for any and all events at the church as well as leading many church retreats to Pigeon Forge. She also was a member of the YWCA. Helen was an avid bowler and golfer winning many awards as she golfed from Hilton Head, SC to Las Vegas, NV. She was a member of the Women's Golf Association Belleview/Cadiz.
Helen's most prestigious achievement was her family. She loved to be surrounded on many vacations by her grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids. They were her pride & joy.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband John A. D’Andrea; son William A. Sweitzer and siblings Mary Ann Winstel & Roy Humes. She is survived by two daughters Margaret (Robert) Cox and Linda DiLorenzo; sister Laura Frattini; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Final arrangements are pending with Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home.
