Helen L. Shaffer 85 of Lake Orion, Michigan, formerly of Steubenville died Thursday, April 3, 2003 at Parkliffe Community, Toledo, Ohio. She was born on December 12, 1917 in Steubenville a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Wesley Miles. She retired in 1983 from Louis Berkman Co. and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Helen was preceded in death by her husband V. Robert Shaffer in 1983; one brother Sonny Shaffer and one sister Ruth Dossett. Surviving are two daughters Bonnie L. (Joseph) Ferguson of Lake Orion and Priscilla (Tony) Nebesny of Indianapolis, Indiana; one son Robert (Diane) Shaffer of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road on Monday from 11 a.m. until time of services at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bethel Bateson officiating.
