Dear Donna, Jack and family, We have been concerned about Helen's health as this has been the first time we have not received Christmas or birthday cards from her in 38 years. We have checked on line, and just today saw that she passed away on 7/28. What a full and wonderful life during her 95 years! We will always be so grateful for Helen's loving and generous heart, taking us in to live with her after our house fire in 1975 (at 3022 E. Court in Iowa City). Our Timmy was just 7 and little Jeanne 4 y/o. Helen shared some deep, personal stories of faith with us and her conviction of the personal presence of Jesus in her life. We have recently recounted her major life change of moving from Ohio to Iowa City to be near you all. She has inspired and encouraged us (unbeknownst to her); we have just sold our home in Iowa City after 40 years and moved to be next door to Jeanne and John, and their 2 children, ages 7 and 9, in the Boston area (near Worcester, MA)....a big change for us! The goodness of Helen's life indeed will continue to bear fruit for generations to come. We pray for your Peace and the comfort from our Lord at this time. Bill and Patsy Lawton (phone: 319-430-3496)
