Obituary For Helen C. Butcher

Helen C. Butcher 90 of Steubenville, OH died Saturday, January 5, 2002 at her home of natural causes. She was born in Gallipolis, OH on December 16, 1911 the daughter of the late Homer and Cora Mae Wyres Varian. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Verna Faye Thompson, Pauline Norris and Leota Harris. Helen was a retired school matron for the Steubenville City Schools with 25 years of service. She was a member of the Finley United Methodist Church of Steubenville, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Willing Worker’s Sunday School Class and Lois Rea Missionary Circle. She graduated from Steubenville High School class of 1932. SURVIVORS: Daughters Mrs. Judith A. (John) Chadnock of Steubenille, OH Paula K. Leasure of Greenwood, IN Mrs. Rebecca L. (Leo) Domanico of Villa Hills, KY Brothers Homer Varian of Graham, NC Sidney Varian and his wife Rose of Cambridge, OH Glenn Varian of Steubenville, OH Sisters Cora Mae Wasson of Richmond, OH Lorraine Blair of California 9 Grandchildren: Stephanie Torrens, Natalie and Valerie Domanico, Kevin, Troy, Randy, Todd, Bobby Leasure and Jill Higgins and 9 Great Grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, WINTERSVILLE, OH on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and additional visitation on Wednesday at Finley United Methodist Church, Steubenville, OH from 1:30 till the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. Rev. P. Douglas George to officiate. Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville.
