Harry B. “Hank” Ensell, Jr., 82, of Steubenville, OH died Friday, April 10, 2015 at Bolger Country Club Manor. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on July 14, 1932 a son of the late Harry B. and Thelma Minks Ensell, Sr. He was a member of LaBelle View Church of Christ. Hank was a Navy veteran and retired as a welder from Weirton Steel. Hank and his wife Mary were lifelong fans of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steubenville Big Red Football. Their favorite vacation spots were watching the Pirates play spring training ball in Bradenton, FL and Geneva on the Lake. He was a Steubenville Big Red Football legend and had two softball teams named after him “Hank’s All Stars” and “Ensell’s All Stars”. Preceding Hank in death were his wife Mary Jo Ensell; two brothers Curly Ensell and Hoop Ensell and four sisters Martha Jane Ensell, Nellie Canyock, Cora Hermans and Thelma “Sis” Burnett. Surviving are three sons Kevin Ensell of Steubenville, OH, Mark Ensell of Calcutta, OH and Patrick Ensell of Steubenville, OH; daughter Karen Ensell of Dillonvale, OH; 11 grandchildren Holly, Ryan, Anthony, Kurt, John, Steven, Jessica, Jenee and Sean Ensell, Jeremy Huntington and Brian Roman; 20 great grandchildren and three special friends Bob McGinnis, Tom McClain and “Mingo”. Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home (formerly McClave’s), 611 N. 4th Street, Steubenville Monday 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. with Minister Tom Arehart officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to Valley Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Valley Hospice, Country Club Manor and cousin Brad.
