Harold R. Ramsay, 85, of Wintersville, OH died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Trinity West. He was born in Bellaire, OH on February 20, 1921 a son of the late Clarence and Lucille Giffin Ramsay. Preceding Harold in death were three brothers; twin brother Howard, Laverne and Harry Ramsay; sister Wilma Caldwell and grandson Fredrick John “F.J.” Hastwell IV. Harold retired from Ohio Power Company as a Distribution Planner and held church membership at the Wintersville United Methodist Church and served during WWII in the U.S. Army. Survived by his wife, Evelyn M. Conway Ramsay, whom he married on June 21, 1946; two daughters Hannah L. (Fredrick J.) Hastwell III of Worthington, OH and Brenda S. Roberts of Tallahassee, FL; a brother Clarence (Shirley) Ramsay of Bellaire, OH; two sisters Wanda (Donald) Hood of Chester, WV and Dolores (Samuel) Burkhart of Bellaire, OH; five grandchildren Heather, Daniel, Amy, Whitney and Ashley and 7 great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday from 4-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating. Burial at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, OH where the Belmont Co. Council of VFW will conduct military services.
