Harold M. Simmons 86 of Mingo Jct., Ohio died Thursday, April 3, 2003 at home. He was born in Bergholz, Ohio on January 7, 1917 a son of the late Elmer M. and Almedia Cline Simmons. He was a member of Bell Chapel U.M. Church and retired from the Blast Furnace at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. An Army veteran of WWII. Harold was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Augusta Wilke Simmons; an infant daughter Bonnie Lee; and three brothers Floyd, Leslie and Roscoe Simmons. Harold is survived by one daughter Thelma Juanita (James) Mills of Mingo; three sons Harold C. (Gloria Jean) Simmons of Mingo, Martin Dale Simmons of Brilliant and Carl D. (Elaine) Simmons of Salem, Ohio; seven grandchildren Douglas P. Simmons, Richard W. Simmons, James Mills, Jr., Troy A. Simmons, Shauna R. Simmons, Nicole R. Brown and Jennifer J. Sarginger; nine great grandchildren; and two sisters Clara Belle (Don) Cole of Everness, FL and Jean (Richard) Harrison of Scio, Ohio. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. On Monday, friends may call at Bell Chapel Church from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m.with Rev. Jeff Proya officiating. Burial at Center Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bell Chapel U.M. Church or the Jefferson County Unit of the American Cancer Society. Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct graveside services.
