H. Carl Taylor, Jr., 76, of Wintersville, Ohio died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Trinity West. He was born September 23, 1931 in Rockwood, TN the son of the late Hosea C. and Dovie Dean Martin Taylor, Sr. Early in his work career, Carl was a Greyhound Busline driver and was retired from North American Trucking Co. and Protestant by faith. Carl was an athlete and graduate of Steubenville High School. He was a trustee and life member of Jefferson County Sportsman Club and enjoyed camping and fishing. Preceding Carl in death were his wife E. Darlene Vanchure Taylor and four great grandchildren.Surviving are his sons Carl (Debbie) Taylor of Follansbee, Gene (Debbie) Taylor and Brad (Tammy) Taylor both of Cleveland, OH, Neil (companion Melody) Taylor of Wintersville, Allen (companion Joy) Taylor of Cadiz; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; sister Billie Dove Thompson of Maryland; and special niece Betty Marie Beard of Virginia.Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Thursday 2-4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until time of services at 8 p.m. with Rev. Lawrence Kimball officiating.Memorials may be directed to either Wintersville or Belvedere Volunteer Fire Depts.
