Grove E. “Ed” Calvert 79 of Mingo Junction, Ohio died Friday, January 7, 2004 at his residence of natural causes. He was born in Wheeling, WV on January 25, 1925 a son of the late Grove A. and Amelia Strawderman Calvert. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Mingo Junction. Ed retired from I.B.E.W., where he was a heavy construction electrician and served with the Marine Corps during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith “Edie” Roma Calvert, three sisters and a infant brother. Surviving are his son Grove A. (Mary) Calvert of Virginia Beach, VA, sister Lucille Means of Wheeling, WV and four grandchildren. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Avenue, Mingo Junction on Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. James Dunfee officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Vigil services 4 p.m. Wednesday
