The good Lord took Goldie F. Machesney, 92, of Steubenville, Ohio on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Clarksburg, WV on March 30, 1917 the daughter of the late Engle and Lillie Bell Noice Hall. Goldie was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was retired from Jefferson County Children’s Home, where she was a cook. She was preceded in death by her husband John Machesney; step-sons Richard, Walter and John Machesney. Goldie is survived by her son Alfred “Danny” Machesney of Newport News, VA; her daughter Cindy (Chuck) Oliver of Weirton, WV; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Thursday 7-9 p.m. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be Friday, 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Msgr. Gerald Calovini as celebrant. Burial at Union Cemetery.
