Obituary For Glenn E. Nelson

Glenn E. Nelson, 85, of Wintersville died Saturday, August 6, 2011 at home.  He was born in Steubenville on March 9, 1926 a son of the late Benjamin and Marie Hazencomb Nelson.  Glenn was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel as a craneman.  Preceded in death by sisters Daisy Erwin and Helen Allen; brother Howard Nelson.  Glenn is survived by his wife Nellie G. “Gertie” Martin Nelson; daughters Betty Schilling of Canton, OH and Glenna (Michael) Kelleher of Wintersville; sister Betty (Robert) Clark of New Philadelphia, OH; 6 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Monday from 11a.m. until time of services at 1p.m. with Dr. Rev. John Beard officiating.  Burial at Fort Steuben.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Charity Hospice.  Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct graveside services.

    Grandpap was a wonderful,kind,and loving person...I will miss him very much...I will keep all of the memories with me each and everyday..I hope that I can be all the things that grandpap was and will always be in my heart....I wish that everyone can have the opportunity to met and know and love such a wonderful man...He will be sadly missed...I hope that my grandma can go on....I want her to know how much grandpap loved her...and hope that she can feel his love with her everyday...even with him gone.....I hope that he is enjoying not suffering and being free from illness and age..I hope he is riding around in his golf cart in heaven and watching over us and helping us to continue to grow and be the best that we can be...I will miss him very much and I will never forgot the man he was and is........Forever loved and respected!!!!
