Glenn Curtis Wells, 94, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away June 27, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Sylvester and Oma Weeks Wells on October 18, 1924 in New Alexandria, Ohio. He was preceded also in death by his brothers Allen C. and Ross L. Wells. He was a member of Triumph of the Cross (Holy Rosary) Catholic Church and former board member of Jefferson County Historical Society. Glenn graduated from Brilliant High School and served in the US Navy as a Radioman third class V6 USNR. He is retired President of Wells Construction Co. and West End Excavating and built a multitude of houses and offices. Glenn was a sports enthusiast, loved family get togethers, golf and bowling. He was a gifted conversationalist and never meet a stranger. He is survived by his wife of 71 years Marcella Peterson Wells and their children Richard (Tina) of Steubenville, Karen (Michael) Albrink of Tampa, Florida, Roger (Sharon) of Steubenville, Janet (David) Thompson of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Patty (Jeff) North of Hilton Head, South Carolina and John (Gillian) of South Barrington, Illinois; grandchildren Chris, Lauren, Susan, Kevin, Layne, Morgan and Kate Wells, Kelly and Shannon Albrink, Ryan Thompson, Danielle Brickhouse, Phillip and Clayton North and great granddaughter Ella Brickhouse. Friends may call at Triumph of the Cross (Holy Rosary) Catholic Church, 204 Rosemont Avenue, Steubenville on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 10 until the time of funeral liturgy with mass at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Thomas Nau celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary where the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will accord full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be directed to Valley Hospice or Jefferson County Historical Society.
