Obituary For Gladys Marie Yost

Gladys Marie Yost, 96, of Steubenville, Ohio died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Sienna Woods. She was born on April 6, 1915 in Toledo, Ohio a daughter of the late Thurman & Hattie Reed Doughty. Gladys was Protestant by faith and an avid golfer. She held the Women’s Golf Championship title at Steubenville Country Club on several occasions. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Glenn L. Yost and brother John Doughty.Surviving are her son Peter (Carol) Yost of Steubenville; granddaughter Emily Yost and sister Vera Stout.Private services.Because of Gladys’s love of animals, memorials may be directed to Jefferson County Humane Society.

    I was so sorry to hear of Gladys passing. She was very helpful getting me back to playing golf after quite a few years away from the game. She did love the game and loved being active in general. I couldn't believe the miles she put in walking everywhere. You have my deepest sympathy.

    Gladys will be missed by many of us who golfed with her over the years at the Country Club. She taught us valuable lessons on the golf course and entertained us often with her memories of life at the Club over the many years she spent time there.
