Gladys Caroline Paulman 87, went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2005 at the home of her daughter, Ruth Ann, surrounded by her family. Gladys was born April 13, 1918 in New Alexandria, OH a daughter of the late Otto and Nora Henke Carl. She also was preceded in death by four sisters; Freda Manos, Lenora Bailey, Grace Grimm and Minnie Adams; and four brothers; George, Ernest, William and Edward Carl; and four Grandchildren; Norma Jean and Clifford Dean Paulman and James and Jonathan McGrail. Surviving is her husband, Charles C. Paulman Sr. whom she married July 2, 1938 in Wintersville, OH. Gladys is also survived by her eight children; three sons and two daughters-in-law; Charles and Rose Paulman Jr. of Dillonvale, Kenneth and Jamie Paulman of Bloomingdale and Roger Paulman of Mingo Junction; five daughters and four sons-in-law; Esther and Donald Fugett of Wintersville, Ruth Ann and Allen Fugett of Mingo Junction, Rose and Terry Timmerman of Rayland, Deborah and James McGrail III of Steubenville and Ella Paulman of Steubenville. She is survived by eleven grandchildren; Kathleen Oyster, Glenn, Keith and Douglas Fugett, Susan Abu-Absi, Scott, Timothy, Cassie and Courtney Paulman, Amanda and Rebecca McGrail and ten great-grandchildren. Gladys was a founding member of Kolmont Community Church. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Rev. Sam Retzer to officiate. Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorial contributions may be directed to Kolmont Community Church, Hill-N-Dale Vol. Fire Department or Valley Hospice Inc.
