George W. “Buddy” Beattie, Jr. 63 of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Steubenville, Ohio died Friday at his home of natural causes. He was born in Steubenville on December 17, 1939 a son of the late George W. and Mae McClaren Beattie, Sr. Buddy graduated from Steubenville High School in 1959 and was a member of Myrtle Beach Elks and Moose, Steubenville Polish Athletic Club. He retired from the galvanizing line at Weirton Steel. Surviving are his wife Barbara Stasiulewicz Beattie; one son George W. “Bill” (Nancy) Beattie of Wintersville; four daughters Debra Beattie, Karen Beattie and Cindy (Camillo) DiCarlantonio all of Steubenville, and Kelley (Eric) Jones of Wintersville; three stepdaughters Michelle (Ron) Lyons of Toronto, Ohio, Rebecca Fell of Pittsburgh, PA and Deborah Fell of Columbus, Ohio; and twelve grandchildren Brien and Brooke Beattie; Mario “Bubba” and Ryan Costantini; Anthony and Karley Saccoccia; Michael and Maria DiCarlantonio; Lauren Jones; Ian and Adam Lyons and Benjamin Fell. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Msgr. George Yontz officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Memorial contributions may be made in George’s memory to Steubenville High School Foundation.
