George “Dudach” Sogan 82 of Mingo Junction, Ohio died Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at Trinity West, Steubenville, Ohio. He was born in Mingo on October 17, 1921 a son of the late Michael and Elizabeth Gabor Sogan. He was a member of St. John Byzantine Church and American-Slovak Citizens Club both of Mingo. Dudach was a retired ironworker at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was preceded in death by one brother Michael Sogan and three sisters Anne Sogan, Mary Sogan and Agnes Sogan Vargo. Dudach is survived by one daughter Elizabeth A. (Richard) Schart of Highland Village, Texas; one son George H. Sogan of Columbus, Ohio; two grandsons Matthew R. Schart and Kurtis S. Schart both of Texas; one great grandson Tyler M. Schart and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Avenue, Mingo Junction on Friday 6-9 p.m. Blessing service 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home followed by Solemn Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. John Church with Fr. Andrew Chura officiating. Burial at Oakland Cemetery. Panachida 6:30 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
