George S. Gombar, 58, of Steubenville, Ohio died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Acuity Specialty Hospital. He was born in Steubenville on October 29, 1948 a son of the late Stephen Gombar and the late Virginia Ritchie Gombar Krzywdik. He was retired pipe fitter at Weirton Steel Co. and Catholic by faith. George was a Viet Nam Marine Corps veteran and held membership at Brilliant American Legion Post 0573; Steubenville Moose Lodge 619; and Weirton V.F.W. Post 2716. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother and a sister. Surviving are his daughters Lisa (James) Talkington and Jennifer (Ryan) Hall; grandson Hunter Talkington; sisters Mary Ann (Dave) Mancano of Steubenville, twin Lillian (Ed) Wilson of Brilliant, Anna (Kevin) Leasure of Bellaire; brothers Steve (Ruth) Gombar of Brilliant, Michael (Dana) Gombar of CA and Thomas (JoAnn) Krzywdik of Stratton; and dear friend Nancy Cutlip. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Saturday from 4 p.m. until time of services at 6 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Leasure and Brilliant American Legion conducting services.
