George O. Morris, 85, of East Springfield, Ohio went to be with the Lord of Saturday, July 21, 2007 at his daughter’s residence in Wintersville. He was born April 2, 1922 in Steubenville, Ohio the son of the late James Oakly and Anna Speaks Morris. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary J. Rinehart Morris whom he married on January 24, 1946. George was a member of the Ruritan club of East Springfield and belonged to the United Methodist church of the Cross in East Springfield. He retired from Signode corp. quality control department in 1982 and served during WWII in the Army Air Corps; and was a graduate of Steubenville High School. He will be sadly missed by his son, James E. (Marsha) Morris of Bloomingdale, OH; daughter, Linda (Jerry) Boyd of Wintersville, OH; grandson, Jerry (Kathy) Boyd of East Springfield, OH ; granddaughter, Michelle (William) Powell of Center, PA; and six great grandchildren, Rachel, Amber, B.J., Nicholas, Kimberly and Brandon. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Monday from 4-8 p.m., and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Rev. Jason Elliott officiating.
