George Michael Babela, Jr., 51, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away at home on October 12, 2025. George was born in Steubenville, Ohio on July 4, 1974 the son of the late George Michael Babela, Sr. & Yolanda Jeannie Butto Babela. He was a 1992 graduate of Wintersville High School where he played track, football and wrestling, he also played drums for six years in the Wintersville High School Band. George went on to obtain an Associate degree in Electronics from Devry University. He went on to work many years as a Coater operator for Ball Manufacturing & Sonoco.
George was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Ohio State University. He loved playing cards, boating and listening to music. George was also a great dancer. He was very intelligent and was good with his hands. There was nothing that he could not fix. He never had a bad word to say about anyone.
George is preceded in death by his father, George M. Babela Sr. and grandparents George & Sue Fritch Babela and Romeo & Bobby Snow Butto. He is survived by his mother Yolanda Jeannie Babela; uncle Rodney Butto; aunt Marilyn Babela; cousins Cassandra Butto, Jacob Butto, George, Sean & Kevin Whelan; second cousins Bill Mellott, Paul Babela & Jason Babela; great-cousins Maleea, Azariah & Amiena Faulks; and his beloved dog Lexy, who will miss him greatly, they were buddies.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m. with Pastor Tim Groos officiating.
George, you will be missed more than you know. I love you so much. You are at rest with Jesus and your Dad.

Jeannie I am so sorry for your son George's passing. No words are going to help you ease your pain. My prayers are with you at this time. I no longer live in weirton so I am unable to hug you in person hon. No one can take your memories away ever and same with us. Sweet memories growing up with you.
