George M. Babela, Sr., 79, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. He was born on January 22, 1944 in Steubenville the son of the late George E. & Sue Fritch Babela. After graduating from Wintersville High School in 1961, George worked for his parents installing flooring. Upon their retirement, George became the owner of Babela-Keller Co. until his retirement in 2006.
George is survived by his wife of 54 years and the love of his life, Jeannie Butto Babela; beloved son George Michael Babela, Jr.; sister Marilyn J. Babela; best friend Dan Haskins and many cousins.
George will be remembered for all his beautiful shiny black fast cars, rough voice, jokes, kindness, and ability to make friends wherever he went. He will forever be in our hearts and truly missed.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11:30 a.m. Entombment at Fort Steuben.
