George G. Valkosky 82 of Wintersville, Ohio died Saturday, January 24, 2004 at Trinity West. He was born in Mingo Junction, Ohio on October 28, 1921 a son of the late George G. and Mary Andrachak Valkovsky. He was a member of St. Andrew Orthodox Church; Unionport Masonic Lodge 333 F&AM; Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville and Unionport Knights of Pythias. George retired from Sears Roebuck Co. after thirty-three years of service in the carpet and catalogue departments. After retirement, he worked at D&S Motors and State Park Motors in Wintersville. He served in Army Air Corps during WWII. George is survived by his wife Ruth E. Baker Valkosky whom he married on October 19, 1957; children Mary (Richard) Hendershot of Benton, IL, Alice (Tim) Molinaro of Hopedale, Greg Valkosky and Alan (Missy) Valkosky both of Wintersville; grandchildren Joshua Hendershot and Megan Valkosky; step grandson Jason Hendershot; brother Michael (Helen) Valkosky of Wintersville and sister Irene (John) Kundrat of Mingo Junction. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday 7-9; Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Fr. John Kopcha officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. Masonic services 8:30 p.m. Tuesday Ohio Valley Veterans to conduct services at cemetery chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Wintersville Volunteer Fire Dept.
