George D. Petras, 73, of Steubenville, Ohio died Saturday, August 6, 2005 at Trinity West. He was born in Yorkville, Ohio on February 22, 1932, a son of the late Stephen and Emmerencia “Mary” Luna Petras. George was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., a Marine veteran of the Korean War and Catholic by faith. Preceding George in death were a grandson Cody; five brothers Joe, John, Frank, Pete and Steve Petras and one sister Pauline Kimble. George is survived by his wife Shirley V. Whanger Petras; six children David G. (Deanne) Petras of Bloomingdale, Cheri Petras of Steubenville, Lisa (David) Good of Dillonvale, Valerie Petras, Scott M. Petras and Brian Petras all of Steubenville; six grandchildren Joshua, Melody, Shane, Travis, Shannon and Brandon; two step-grandchildren Kristeen Good and Mollie Beck; one brother Lewis Petras of Cleveland and three sisters Margie Kovalchik of Yorkville, Ann Yablonski of Rayland and Frances Slivka of Mingo Junction. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.; where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Rev.
