George W. Barnes, 61, of Amsterdam, Ohio died Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Trinity West ER. He was born in Steubenville on December 11, 1947 the son of the late Frank and Mary Jane Van Dine Barnes. George worked for Ohio Coal and was a US Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife Mary LaRue Barnes; his wife’s parents Bruce and Helen LaRue and dear friend Helen Moore all of Steubenville. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Robert Shearer officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorial contributions may be made to the : Tony Teramana Cancer Center, 3200 Johnson Road, Steubenville, OH 43952.
