George B. Dettore 82 of Wintersville, Ohio died Monday, December 15, 2003 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on May 18, 1921. He was a member of First Westminster Presbyterian Church and a Marine veteran of WWII. George was a retired body repairman from Montgomery Pontiac. George was preceded in death by his wife Helen A. Pendleton Dettore on July 9, 1977 and his father Patsy Dettorre. Surviving are one daughter Diana “Dee” Dettore of Wintersville; two sons George R. (Cathy) Dettore of Sunbury, Ohio and Richard S. (Jessie) Dettore of Weirton, WV; his mother Leona Paolomilio Dettorre of Wintersville; two grandchildren Greg R. (Adrienne) Dettore of Galena, Ohio and Karen M. Dettore of Sunbury; two great grandchildren Grant M. Dettore and Julia N. Dettore; three brothers Frank (Josephine) Dettorre of Marietta, Ohio, Alfred (Eva) Dettorre of Steubenville, Ohio and Julius (Joyce) Dettorre of Lorain, Ohio; three sisters Ginger (Chuck) Truax of Weirton, WV; Ann Luparello of Steubenville and Eleanor Keenam of Wintersville; several nieces and nephews and his best friend Mary Beth Goddard of Rayland, Ohio. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with rev. Susan Haseltine officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
