Gene J. Modock ,79, of Wintersville, OH died Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville. He was born in Piney Fork, OH on August 19, 1926 a son of the late Joseph Modock and Johanna Dincau Modock Zampieri. Also preceded in death by two brothers Dominic and Tony Zampieri; and one sister Theresa Ciafardone. Gene was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Wintersville and a former member of Wintersville Fire Department. He retired from the safety department at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co. and served in the US Navy during WWII. Survived by his wife Anne Krupyak Modock and a son Eugene Modock both of Wintersville; two brothers Joseph Zampieri of Canal Fulton, OH and Mundo Zampieri of Lorain, OH; one sister JoAnn Zampieri Whetsell of Rock Creek, Ohio and a sister-in-law Margaret Pavlov of New Alexandria, OH. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Msgr. Gerald Calovini celebrant. Entombment at Fort Steuben. Vigil service Tuesday 3:45 p.m.
