Rip in peace, Gary you were among the brightest smiling face of our neigbhorhood while we were growing up....and for me, lately, you were a brother in arms, a friend in the cold of winter and always a firm handshake and again oftentimes, a smiling face in and out of season.... you were also the first eagle scout i ever knew, and likewise, you were the first and closet buddy from our neighborhood, that i knew, who went into the marines you were never the same after that gary...we all saw this... i remember the suffering that followed soon after your return... but you never lost your smile, your kindness and in many ways, you ability to listen, and try to understand others.... despite the heavy crosses that your bore. indeed, you fought for our county while very young; and it impacted and changed u not for the better...but you bore this suffering well my friend [...but it seems the va seemed of late, to ignore, or overlook your true plight and in many ways, forget ...as too often is the case...] sadly so... yet, you were a brother, a son, a good neighbor and a childhood special memory... and always a special one and a special person... we will miss you Gary, here in Westwood and now, things will not be the same without you in our lives....in my life, my brother tony's and my mothers will not quite be the same without seeing u... always, thinking of your walking, often alone ..but tall and sure... and your brilliant smile and your friendliness... walk on Gary Almond Marine, neighbor and friend for life walk on, and yes, clear that path for us soldier...shouldering the invisible cross, in life, as much as any war... and now, for eternity...for your own beloved mom.... make the way for us...to heaven your friend forever
