Frederick M. Jackson 74 of Wintersville, Ohio died Thursday, April 3, 2003 at Trinity West, Steubenville. He was born in Mingo Junction, Ohio on August 19, 1928 a son of the late Enoch and Ada M. Rogers Jackson. He was a retired electrician for I.B.E.W. Local 246 of which he was a fifty year member, and a charter member and trustee of Brentwood U.M. Church. A 26 year member of Steubenville Lodge #45 F&AM; Deputy’s Representative Valley of Steubenville Scottish Rite 33rd Degree, Union Chapter and Council, Steubenville Commandery; Aladdin Shrine and Steubenville Shrine Club, Allied Masonic Degree East Liverpool, Red Cross of Constantine, and patron of LaBelle Chapter 414 Order of Eastern Star. He was instrumental in the founding of the Steubenville 32nd Degree Masonic Learning Center. Frederick was an active member of Steubenville Millmen’s Hostel and Urban Mission. He was a graduate of Mingo High School and Otterbein College. Frederick was preceded in death by two brothers Wilfred and Thomas Jackson and two sisters Mary Dodd and Alice Kerr. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Joyce Robertson Jackson; three daughters Deborah (James) Jackson Abrams of Wintersville, Diane Jackson Benner of Akron, Ohio and Deidre (Tim) Jackson Feldman of Loveland, Colorado; one son F. Mark (Glenna Smith) Jackson of Sharon Center, Ohio; eight grandchildren Amanda J. Abrams, Alex J. Abrams, Justin S. Benner, Christopher J. Benner, Zachary S. Feldman, Jackson W. Feldman, Victoria M. Jackson and Ethan F. Jackson; and one brotherJames John “Butch” Jackson of Jewett, Ohio. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friends may call on Monday from 1:30 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. at Brentwood U.M. Church with Rev. David Martin and Rev. David Sperry officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, Ohio. Masonic services p.m. 7:30 p.m. Sunday Memorial contributions may be made to Brentwood U.M. Church or 32nd Degree Masonic Learning Center.
