Frederick Louis Koenig of Steubenville, Ohio made Peace with the Lord at his home after a battle with cancer on January 21, 2003. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 18, 1940 a son of the late Louis J. and Karoline “Leni” Koenig. A Catholic by faith, He attended Holy Name Cathedral in Steubenville. He was a retired member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 495 of Steubenville/Cambridge with over 30 years of dedicated service and an AMA charter life member and an Ohio Valley BSA club member. Surviving are his wife of 35 years Ingrid M. Maier Koenig; two sons Francis F. Koeing of Columbus, Ohio and Michael A. (fiancee Angela) Koenig of Adena, Ohio; one daughter Andrea Koenig-Feldman (husband Daniel) of Bradley Beach, NJ; one sister Mary Ann (John) Bruce of Port St. Lucie, FL; and one brother John C. Koenig of Highlands, NC. A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio with Very Rev. Timothy J. Shannon officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Teramana Cancer Center or Valley Hospice, Inc.
