Fred V. Louk, 90, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away peacefully on August 26, 2022 at his home with his loving family by his side. Fred was born on July 13, 1932 in Elkins, WV a son of the late Grant Garfield & Anna Marie (Teter) Louk. He graduated from Philippi High School and then proudly enlisted in the US Army serving his country in the Korean War. Fred went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education and History from Fairmont State College before working for 30 years as a claims adjuster with Kemper Insurance.
Fred is a proud member of the Parkersburg V.F.W., Wintersville American Legion and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Fred also loved to work on the farm and ride his old tractors. Fred’s final wish was to be remembered as a “very nice old man.”
Fred is preceded in death by three brothers Grant Louk, Jr., John Henry Louk & Richard Gale Louk and sister Shirley Joyce Thomas.
Fred is survived by the love of his life, Imogene Humphreys Louk; son Rodney (Debra) Louk; daughter Lala Leanne (Pat) Pendleton; three sisters Audrey (Sherlock) George, Jean (Donald) Crites & Sharron Smith; five grandchildren Matthew (Michele) Louk, Jamie Louk, Brandon (Aimee) Pendleton, Zachary (Catherine) Pendleton & Dylan (Kamiliah) Pendleton; nine great grandchildren Brock, Abbey, Kellen, Shane, Kit, Abraham, Kady, Emma & Taylor.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Wednesday August 31, 2022 from 4 – 6 pm where services will be held on Thursday at 11 am with Rev. Carl Moore officiating. Entombment at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
