Obituary For Fred L. Huff

Frederick L. Huff, 74, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Mercy Hospital. He was born on July 8, 1947 in Steubenville a son of the late Frederick E. and Eleanor L. Phillipson Huff.

Fred retired from American Electric Power after working there for 42 years, starting as a Lineman and working his way up to a foreman and then a specialist. While at the power company, Fred had the opportunity to train many new employees. He never hesitated to help anyone. There was never a job that he would not attempt. Fred never met a stranger because he loved to talk.

Fred’s pride and joy were his family, friends and home. He held them near to his heart. Fred loved gardening, antique cars, flipping houses, shopping, auctions, family vacations at the beach and taking his boxer, Chewy, for a ride. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. He was a member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church.

Fred married his high school sweetheart June 5, 1967 in Greensboro, NC and shortly thereafter began his life journey as a Husband, Dad and Pappy. Fred

is survived by his wife Donna S. Zamborsky Huff; three children Terri (David) Throckmorton, Fred L. (Ann) Huff, Jr. and Leslie (Michael) Aftanas; seven grandchildren Emily Throckmorton, Michael Ford, Bryce (Brooke) Throckmorton, Kayla Huff, Raylyn Aftanas, Olivia Huff and Ava Aftanas; great grandson Hudson Throckmorton; brother James D. (Susan) Huff; cousin and best friend Eddie (Mary Ellen) Pleise.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. On Tuesday, friends may call at Starkdale Presbyterian Church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Burial at Union Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made St. Jude Childrens Hospital or Starkdale Presbyterian Church.
