Frank M. Shimko, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Steubenville, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2004 in the Villa Saint Joseph Nursing Home, Overland, Kansas at the age of 100. Born in Mingo Junction, OH on May 16, 1904, he was the eldest son of the late Michael and Anna Dudash Shimko, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife Rose Lapoczka Shimko, and his sister, Anna Homan. He retired from Teramana Brothers Coal Company and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Surviving are a son, Frank Edward Shimko and his wife Amy of Newburg, Maryland; a daughter, Barbara Shimko Davis and her husband Jeff of Overland Park, Kansas; and a brother, Mike Shimko of Steubenville. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, August 18, at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road followed by a Funeral Liturgy with mass at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Timothy McGuire officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville. Memorial contributions may be sent to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
