Frank J. Dondzila 76 of Wintersville, Ohio died Friday, March 5, 2004 at Middlebury Manor in Akron, Ohio. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on July 7, 1927 a son of the late John and Mary Kostrozewa Dondzila. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church: Knights of Columbus Council 472, American Legion Post 557 all in Wintersville, and the Jefferson County Democratic Party. Frank was a former Cross Creek Township Trustee and former member of Polish National Alliance and Polish Athletic Club. He served in the Navy during WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Frank retired as a union carpenter. Preceding him in death were his wife Violet E. “Vi” Houchin Dondzila on April 14, 2001; one brother Paul and two sisters Stella Matto and Betty Krot. Frank is survived by one son Bruce E. (Toni Jean) Dondzila; two daughters Jeri (Richard) Brooks and Cheryl (Bus) Edwards all of Wintersville; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and two sisters Ida Hudson of Wintersville and Genevieve Leach of Steubenville. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Sunday 7-9 and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral liturgy with mass 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church with Msgr. Gerald E. Calovini officiating. Entombment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Vigil service 3:45 p.m. Monday
