Francis R. Glasser, 86, of Steubenville, Ohio, died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Trinity West. He was born January 13, 1924 in Bellaire, Ohio a son of the late Frank and Eva Coher Glasser. Francis was preceded in death by his first wife Ina Starr; infant daughter Bonnie Starr; brother Donald Glasser and two sisters Edna Morgan and Louella Wright. Francis was a member of LaBelle View Church of Christ. He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel after 42 years of service as a welder and served in the US Army during WW II. Surviving are his wife Olive L. Jones Glasser; son Francis R. “Fritz” (Janice) Glasser of Lewisburg, WV; daughter Sheila Ravasio of Steubenville, OH; stepdaughter Anne (Michael) Bulas of Newark, OH; eight grandchildren; four step grandchildren; four great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home (formerly McClave Funeral Home), 611 North 4th Street, Steubenville on Monday from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m. with Minister Tom Arehart officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to LaBelle View Church of Christ.

Francis was a very special person to the Speaks family. He lived with us,for awhile, when I was a young girl & I have many stories about him. Francis was fun,loved to laugh,loved to play tricks on people,& I'll always remember his laugh. So many memories. Our family will miss hearing from Francis.
