Francis D. Carmine, 81, of Mingo Junction, Ohio passed away early Thursday morning, January 6, 2011. He was born on November 6, 1929 to the late Joseph & Mary Bodnar Carmine. Francis was retired from Titanium Metals Corp. and a lifetime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.He served in the US Air Force. His favorite hobbies were flying his Piper J-3 Cub, attending air shows, going to Indy car races and fishing with his grandson. In his later years, Francis enjoyed having coffee with his buddies every morning in downtown Mingo. Preceding him in death was his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Yount Carmine, who died in 2002, after a long bout with cancer. Francis was a loving husband who was close by her side throughout her illness. May they now be be reunited and together forever in eternity. He was also preceded in death by two infant daughters Francine & Marcia; and brother William Carmine. Francis will be greatly missed by his daughters Susan (Dr. John) Vallera and Kimberly Carmine; two grandchildren Megan & Brian Vallera. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, Mingo Junction, Ohio tonight from 5-8 p.m. On Saturday, visitation at St. Agnes Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral liturgy with mass at 10 a.m. with Rev. James Dunfee officiating. Burial at Oakland Cemetery. Vigil service 7:45 p.m. Memorials may be directed to St. Agnes Church.
