Frances “Fran” Mae Pritts-Krnich, 86, of Steubenville, OH passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Valley Hospice Care Center. She was in born Allegheny County, PA on July 25, 1931 a daughter of the late David I. and Gertrude Mae Kelso Doughty. Fran was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she served as treasurer until she turned 80 years old and she volunteered at Steubenville Elks Lodge #231. She graduated in 1949 from Connellsville High School in Pennsylvania. Fran retired from Sears Roebuck Company as an accounting supervisor and later worked at the former Citizens Bank in Island Creek. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband George E. Pritts in 1985 and her second husband Peter M. Krnich in 2006; sisters Naomi Hardesty and Virginia Davis; brother David Doughty. Fran is survived by her sons Donald G. (Barbara) Pritts of Toronto, OH and Alan W. (Debbie) Pritts of Weirton, WV; brother John (Frances) Doughty of Santa Maria, CA; sisters Shirley Cline of Milton Freewater, OR and Trudy Keels of Wintersville, OH; grandchildren Amanda (Al) Johnson, Chelsey Pritts, Ryan (Shannan) Pritts and Dr. Alanna Pritts; great grandchildren Madelyn and Mackenzie Pritts and Kayla and Jace Johnson. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Monday from 4-7p.m. Memorial services for Fran will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Heckathorn officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
