Forrest D. “Red” Riley Sr. 54 of Steubenville, OH died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at the Shoemaker Mine, Marshall County, West Virginia. He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on April 23, 1950 son of the late Ernest and Edith Pitts Riley. He was employed as a belt man for the Shoemaker Coal Mine and member of United Mine Workers Union. Baptist by faith. Surviving is his wife, Rebecca Shackleford Riley; two sons Forrest D. (Rolanda) Riley Jr. of Hopedale, Ohio and Bruce (Amy) Riley of Mingo Junction, Ohio; daughter Rachel Riley of Columbus, Ohio; two stepdaughters Charesha and LaShanda Shackleford both of Steubenville; stepson, Jeffrey Shackleford of California; 15 grandchildren; two brothers Ernest (Rusty) Riley Jr. of Amsterdam, Ohio and Glenn Riley of Wintersville; three sisters Betty Ash and Doris Keener both of Scio, Ohio and Laura Greathouse of New Cumberland, West Virginia. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Norris Hood officiating. Burial at Blue Ridge Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio.
