Floyd E. Howell, 94, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away at his home on Thursday, October 22, 2020 with family by his side. He was born February 1, 1926 in Mingo Junction a son of the late George & Edna Barker Howell. After 38 years of service, he retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. railroad department and served in Army Air Force during WWII. Preceding Floyd in death were his wife Ester M. Radcliffe Howell; son David Howell; grandson Joe Zuchegno and siblings George & Theresa.
Floyd is survived by his children Dan Howell, Trisha (John) Murphy, Lenny (Jerry) Maurer, Fredda (John) Straughn & Edward (Donna) Howell; longtime companion Grace A. Paddock; 13 grandchildren; 20 great & one great great grandson.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday from 9:30 – 11 a.m. services with Rev. Bill Westling officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
Masks required. Social distancing. No lingering please.

Uncle Floyd was a caring uncle. Skip always said when he looked at uncle Floyd that he could is his dad ( uncle Floyd bother) . I remember uncle Floyd liked to have cook outside him and aunt Grace would always come . He loved to see all the family together. Skip and myself and are kids always enjoy going to uncle Floyd and aunt Grace for are Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve even as our kids got older they still enjoyed going Jess and Jeremiah would come with Levi and Colton and they got to love Uncle Floyd as much as we do .he is going to be greatly missed by this family.
