Obituary For Evelyn "Lynn" F. Houser

Evelyn (Lynn) F. Houser, 57, of Winterville, Ohio passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at Trinity West. She was born March 28, 1961 in Steubenville, OH.

Lynn was an RN who worked in many roles throughout her career. From bedside nurse to administrator, she was always a patient advocate.

The eldest of 6 kids, Lynn grew up with a large loving family. She had her own family when she married her high school sweetheart, Jim. They were happily married for 40 years. Together Jim and Lynn raised three children and lived to see the birth and growth of four wonderful grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Lynn was an avid consumer of the written word. Some of her other hobbies included crocheting, knitting, cross-stitching, quilting and watching horror and sci-fi-films. She adored her two dogs, Zoey and Lexi who brightened her days.

Preceding Lynn in death were her father H. Frank Doomy; paternal grandparents Felice and H. Frank Doomy Senior and maternal grandparents Roy and Evelyn Davis; father-in-law James F. Houser; two sisters-in-law Pam Pate and Jamie Yaworski.

Surviving are her husband Jim Houser; son Jim (Sarah) Houser; two daughters Melissa “Missy” (Bill) Wasson and Jessica Houser; four grandchildren Madison Houser, Tyler Hendrickson, Marshal Houser and Dylan Wasson; mom Sharon Doomy; four brothers Bill (Candy) Doomy, Frank (Elena) Doomy, John (Lynda) Doomy, Alva (Joy) Doomy; sister Pam Doomy; mother-in-law Marian Houser; sister-in-law Robin (Gregg) Clifton and brother-in-law Robert (Michael Burns) Houser, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Thursday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held Friday 10:00 a.m. with her brother Pastor Alva Doomy officiating.

    I am keeping you all in my prayers. Lynn was one of my favorite DONs I've had in my 18 year career as a nurse. She was one of the sweetest most loving people I have ever met and I am a better nurse because of her. Again many prayers for you all. She will be deeply missed by all whom lives she has touched.
