Evelyn Milicia, 87, passed away on May 5, 2024, in The Villages, Florida. She was born on August 5th, 1936, the daughter of the late Guido (Wedle) and Gazelle Paris, of Smithfield, Ohio. A graduate of Smithfield High School, Mount Union College, and The Franciscan University of Steubenville, Evelyn worked several years as a teacher for the Indian Creek School District. The majority of her career was spent teaching elementary music, but she ended her career as a middle school English / Language Arts teacher. She married her husband of 61 years, Pete Milicia, in 1962.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Pete, of The Villages, Florida, along with her three children, Angela (Edward) Jackson of Westerville, Ohio, Theresa (Larry) Vietmeier, of Wauseon Ohio, and Frank Milicia, of Los Angeles California. Evelyn is also survived by her five beloved grandchildren, Joseph, Sarah, and Jessica Vietmeier along with Anna and Erica Jackson.
Evelyn enjoyed playing her flute, reading, and spending time with family. She also participated in a number of bands and church choirs in The Villages, FL. Evelyn was a longtime devoted member of St. Pius X Church in Steubenville, Ohio, as well as St. Timothy Catholic Church in The Villages, Florida.
Calling hours will take place at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Saturday, May 18th, at 9:30 - 10:30, with mass following at 11:00 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Burial at Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, Ohio.
